It was a busy afternoon before I rush to SM Mall of Asia for the grand finale of Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. I can’t believe I was able to watch and complete six Saturdays and it was really worth the effort.
March 17 was Pyromusical’s Grand Finale. It’s the Platinum Philippine’s fireworks exhibition that I am looking forward and expecting a great exhibition. Before the show, Close Up invited us for the launch of new Close Up song.
Held at the Hong Kong Emperor Restaurant at SM Mall of Asia, the new Close Up music video featuring the new Close Up song "Moving Closer", by Never The Stranger was launched. Never The Strangers is composed of lead vocalist and keyboardist Ace Libre, drummer PJ La Vina, bassist Francis Victa and guitarist JP del Mundo. Co-managed by former Close Up artist Rico Blanco, the band believers that no one will ever be strangers to one another in music.
The music video featured Close Up's new faces Ian Batherson and Valerie Weignmann, portrayed two strangers who fall in love at first sight and get lost into their own world. As the story progresses, they discover the confidence to get closer and know each other better.
The grand Pyromusical festival which featured magnificent entries from Australia, Canada, Finland, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, South Korea and United Kingdom wrapped up with the entry of Italy and a special exhibition from the host country Philippines.
That night, best Pyromusical Fireworks display of the 11 countries competing was also chosen and announced.

- 1st Runner Up: A tie between Australia and Finland
- 2nd Runner Up: Netherlands
Platinum Fireworks Pyromusical exhibition incorporate an upbeat music – it was a good show unfortunately there was a technical problem occurred in the middle of pyromusical presentation. After few minutes, the show continued and Close Up presented its own Pyromusical display.
The 6 weeks Close Up Pyromusical Competition was indeed successful. I’m sure all of us will be looking forward for next year’s Pyromusical Competition.
