Happy First Year Anniversary to us!

Last month was special, a lot of things happened in 28 days. Finally, we received our wedding video. I've been waiting for it like a couple of months. Hubby has been very busy at work. He still works on weekends and late nights but I'm glad we are spending more time together at home lately.

We celebrated our first year in Bohol, one of the affected areas by the recent earthquake and super typhoon Yolanda. We took early morning flight en route Tagbilaran on Monday, February 10, exactly our wedding anniversary date. Few days before the trip, we're both busy so I think we deserve "you and me time".

Love Language: Gifts
Love Language: Gifts

I almost lost my balance going to our bedroom with these boxes. When I saw the first box, I knew he has surprises like he always do. Remember the time he hid inside the closet?

Each gift has a sign, "I" then "<3" and the third gift has a "U" (I love You!)

He's fond of giving gifts. Have you heard of "love language"? There are five (5) ways to express your love: gifts, quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service, and physical touch. My husband expresses love through gifts, I'm more on physical touch though. So more often, I don't have gift for him during special occasions except on Christmas and on his birthday. This time though, something not really expensive because he's a simple guy who enjoys simple things. It's a three pairs of cheap, unbranded sunnies.

There's another thing we love to do - traveling! When we do, we're like kids playing, running, lying on the white sand, enjoying a huge bowl of halo-halo and ice cream. We dance under the moon and kiss as we watch the sunset. I do hope this marriage will stay strong. I pray that He will give us many years to be together and be blessed with wonderful children.

First Time in Bohol!

Finally, we arrived in Bohol. We got a tour package at JCAC which I read from a fellow blogger's website. It was an on-the-spot booking. lol! In Tagbilaran, Jonel called the travel agency and discussed the terms right there and then. In less than thirty minutes, our driver and tourist guide arrived and we started the country side tour by 9:30 am. At 8pm, we arrived at Cherry's Home hotel located at Alona complex. The next day, we moved to Panglao where we stayed for the next two days at Whites and Greens Beach Resort, a very nice and quite place in Panglao.

For many times I failed as a wife, as a friend even as a homemaker. I always think of myself, always emotional, stress, sensitive even on small things. But my forgiving husband has learned to accept my weaknesses. He's loving and so forgiving. I have no problems the way he leads us. Always there to support and encourage me. If there's one person who doesn't want me to get mad or irritated, it's my husband. Jonel always touches my forehead when it starts to wrinkled as my mood swings. He always makes me feel special. He reminds me that there's no one to impress but only our Creator, our Lord. I'm so fortunate to have him and I hope he feels the same.

Marriage is like a roller coaster ride. I never thought I'll get married, all I want is to have a successful career and practice my profession in New York until I met him. To tell you honestly, it's not a hard decision perhaps because my priority now is my family. The opportunities on my hands has gone but there's no regret because I'm happy. So, I thank him for coming to my life and helping me change for the better.

Finally, to all our family and friends, here's sharing our wedding video.

This is my story.
