Bridestory: Wedding Planning and Suppliers

WEDDING preparation was one of the hardest and tedious task we ever had. My husband organizes blogger events for several years now but he admitted he had a hard time preparing for the wedding. We were hands on then because we wanted to experience the excitement. I made our souvenir items, Jonel designed and printed our wedding invitations. We went to SM Department store to buy hundred of photo frames for the wedding invite. I chose the design, motif even the wedding flowers. It was quite exhausting at the same time fun and exciting. Anyway, we get married only once in our lives unless you wanted another one on your 10th, 20th or 50th anniversary.

I can still remember the details, preparations, and trials we experienced just before the big day. However, these experiences has thought us the virtues of patience and love. Truly, there's no perfect wedding. I can still remember the excitement while preparing for my wedding day. Some like their weddings to be the grandest celebration, regal and majestic in every detail. I wanted mine simple and intimate. Others, however, prefer a scenic affair, a communion with the nature. We had exchange of vows, a Christian garden wedding celebration at the Oasis Manila along E. Rodriguez. It was an early morning affair, we're glad everyone made it on time. I'm so happy and thankful with all the help from family and friends. Of course, there's no such thing as perfect wedding. There will always be not-so-perfect and disaster moments. I'm so thankful to my wedding coordinators Jen and Jian.

A wedding celebrates the union of two people, and setting up the perfect scene for that once-in-a-lifetime moment is important. Sometimes, it proves to be difficult to plan out the perfect wedding and find the right wedding suppliers without that much effort. I learned about a company from Indonesia that assist getting married couples in planning their perfect wedding. Bridestory helps couples make their dream wedding come true by connecting them to wedding professionals across the globe. It has now become the leading wedding marketplace in Southeast Asia.

The firm targets the younger generation “who are savvy and prefer to obtain information online,” said Kevin Mintaraga, Chief Executive Officer of Bridestory.

“Couples that plan their wedding with Bridestory will end up with better, more beautiful, more savvy wedding, since we believe that they will make well-informed decision with Bridestory,” he added.
The platform works both as an inspiration site and a directory for finding wedding professionals. Bridestory connects couples with the suppliers who has made that inspiration into a reality.

Here in the Philippines, Bridestory's website was launched with over 200 local vendors/suppliers. The website provides couples an easy access based on the type of services they need. These are categorized according to wedding gown and attire, catering, hair and make-up, flowers, and photography, with a total of twenty (20) categories. You can easily find vendors based on location, specialty, color, and most importantly, budget.

Getting married couples can also connect and engage wedding vendors from top wedding destinations. Over 15,000 vendors from 39 countries, including 12,000 hailing from the Southeast Asian region, have enlisted their businesses with Bridestory. Thus, planning for an overseas wedding or photoshoot can easily be done, let it be a pre-wedding shoot in Amanpulo or a wedding in Bali.
