Quezon City On Its 75th Year Anniversary

I've been a resident of Quezon City for more than 15 years. I graduated BSN in one of the nursing schools located along E. Rodriguez. Last year, I undergo abdominal surgery in one of the best hospitals in Quezon City. So far, I'm happy living in this big and busy city. It's very accessible to Manila, Makati, and San Juan. There are a numerous routes leadin to your workplace in Makati, Pasay, and Cavite.

This year, my beloved Quezon City is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee 75th anniversary. It was celebrated in various activities including QCinema international film festival, food and heritage tour (unfortunately I wasn't able to attend due to prior commitments), float parades and a concert at the Quezon Memorial Circle which happened exactly a week ago.

Capping the festivities was an evening of music at QCRocks@75 held at the Quezon Memorial Circle. Pinoy rock bands Parokya Ni Edgar, Rocksteddy, and other personalities came to celebrate.

We enjoyed watching the Quezon City Grand Parade of Lights participated by the Quezon City Municipal office, The Heart Center of the Philippines, University of the Philippines, the famous Laloma for its lechon among others.

Quezon City After 75 Years

This week alone, I visited Cubao twice and surprised how it improved over the years. This digital age, we can expect more BPO or call center offices giving more opportunities for Filipinos. I found several BPOs in Cubao

If you're a type of woman who loves to shop in huge and spacious, not so crowded shopping center, then you should visit Rustans department store Gateway Center

Araneta Coliseum remains to be one of the leading events and concert avenues. Not to forget the oldest bakery along Judge Jimenez, the Kamuning Bakery now owned by Mr. Wilson Lee Flores.

For three years, I gained a lot of Chinese friends. It delights me to learn and experience their customs and traditions. I was invited to join Mid-Autumn Festival held at Brooklyn Pizza along Tomas Morato. Another Chinese friend kept on telling me about Suki Market and I can't wait to go there for black chicken and sibut.

There's so much to do when you're in Quezon City. You can go on a day of food tour amongst your friends and try Filipino restaurants along Maginhawa Quezon City.

I'm also looking forward visiting the newly opened Novo Hotel in Araneta Center. I stayed in Novo Hotel Hong Kong some years ago and I'm glad they opened in the Philippines. Dapitan will be another most-visited place this holiday season for beautiful and easy-on-the-pocket Christmas decors. However, I already did some quick shopping last night at Isetann Cubao.

On top of my priority is to register in Quezon City. Well, I left Makati in 2001 since then I can't remember when was the last time I participated in the national election. It's time to practice my right to vote again. Happy anniversary #QC75
