StallMart and the Food Stalls

We've seen a lot of food stalls and kiosks lining city streets even inside malls to provide affordable yet tasty and filling fixes. Filipinos are very hard-working and diligent, housewives set-up a mini sari-sari store at home for added income.

Others would sell goodies online. And for people who still working on for big capital to start a restaurant may consider food kiosks, stalls and food trucks. We're all business minded and if given the opportunity and proper training we will succeed.

Few weeks ago or so, I met the executives of Stallmart, Inc., the group of experts who brought the success of Mister Donut and has been doing so for more than 30 years.

The company helps educate Filipino entrepreneurs regarding the operations of different kiosks and carts. Stallmart specializes in strategizing, production, distribution, and franchising of high-demand products so if you're planning to get one, perhaps you should contact them.

Starting with the food kiosk/cart industry, Stallmart, Inc. aims to create differentiated insight-based brands like Tik-tok, NYC Fold n’ Roll and Thir Tea.

It was my first time to try the ThirTea, milk tea for consumers on-the-go, offering pocket-friendly milk tea flavors. We've seen the boom of milk tea with tea being a healthier alternative to coffee perhaps you've tried StallMart's ThirTea. Surprising, it's very affordable for only P35.

Another interesting food kiosks Stallmart offers is the Fold N’ Roll offering oven-fresh, piping hot New York-style folded pizza. It was good! In fact, their goodies are really good. We brought home a box of folded pizza, kept it on my freezer and put it on the microwave the next day for breakfast and still savory. Folded pizzas are priced at 2 for P29!

Little Mexico, on the other hand, brings a taste of Mexico through bite-sized tacos, nachos, and burritos.

Food cart franchising is very popular in the Philippines. Stallmart alone has over 90 franchised stores all around the country and it continues to add even more outlets for ThirTea, Fold N’ Roll, Little Mexico, Siomai Central, and Tik-Tok. The start-up capital of food carts are relatively low and those who venture into it see guaranteed profit and positive return on investment within six months to a year.

“Franchising has had a positive contribution to the Philippine economy with millions of jobs created because of these businesses,” said Ms. Michelle Pino, Senior Franchising and Key Accounts Operations Manager, Mister Donut Philippines. “It is also a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to start with, without a lot of money to invest.”
Long time ago, my husband almost tried the business of franchising. It didn't push through though but who knows he might still consider the idea in the future. How about you? I would love to hear your story, hit the comment section. :)

These food stalls are usually located near MRT and LRT stations, near schools, campus and offices.
