Valentine's Day on a Budget!

Give Time. Take the day off!
Most of us are busy at school, at work, at home but that doesn't exempt you to devote time to your loved ones and family. You can go to the beach, picnic, or watch Manila Bay sunset. Spending V-day at home is a perfect date opportunity, wives prepare a special meal for the family. Husbands, take the day off away from your computers and other gadgets.

Treat him/her on a special dinner or lunch. Special doesn't necessarily dining at a five star hotel and spending thousands of pesos. Special means devoting your time and skills by doing special things like cooking. You can bring your date in a nice, clean yet reasonable carinderia

Still on a budget, have one (1) order of a huge bowl of Halo-Halo (P100-150) for the two of you. Enjoy the cold dessert while reminiscing the years of being together as a couple. Cheesy indeed!

Visit a theme park, farm or museum. You don't have to pay for the "ride all you can" or fly to Singapore to visit Universal Studios. In Manila, we have several theme parks and museums with a minimal entrance fee. Holding hands while walking around the park is definitely romantic. I personally like it than wasting my time and effort with the long queue.

Milk tea or Frappuccino, you will always see us sharing one (1) Tall Frappuccino. I suggest you do this when you're already husband and wife. Go ahead if you're comfortable sharing the straw with your boyfriend or date. For the guys, you'll save extra P150 for the roses.

Starbucks Boracay

You don't need to impress your sweetheart, a simple and not so expensive chocolate bar would be appreciated. If you don't have money to buy a dozen roses, give her one piece attach with your personally made Valentine's Card or gather flowers on your garden or neighbor's garden (be sure to ask permission) place it in a lovely jar, she will like it!

Compliment him on something you know he’s been working hard. If he treat you on a special weekend getaway, be sincere to thank him.

Say "I Love You!" and don't forget to take a photo of you. Ask someone from the store, carinderia or wherever you are to take a photo of you. Happy Valentine's Day.
