Robin Padilla's Organic Lifestyle; Endorses Ascof Lagundi

Three years ago organic farming was introduced to me by Niet of Agricultural Training Institute. A group of bloggers was invited to visit Costales Farm located in Majayjay Laguna. It was then followed by a series of organic farm tour. This time in different parts of the country. From Costales farm all the way Sagada and Negros Occidental, the organic farming capital of the Philippines. Here's an overview and my thoughts about organic farming, read here.

The other day, I was invited to attend a press conference where Ascof Lagundi, a famous cough remedy introduced its brand ambassador, the "bad boy of Philippine Movies", Robin Padilla. Not so much familiar with his life, I was surprised when he shared his organic lifestyle. Robin and wife Mariel has been using organic products for three years now. The couple believe that one should choose herbal medicines because it is natural unlike synthetic ones that may cause liver deterioration. Moreover, having seen the advantages of using organic products, Robin felt the responsibility to share his good experience with his fellowmen.

At first, Robin was hesitant about the project. He thought he would be endorsing a synthetic product, something he tries to avoid because he prefers to use herbal medicines in real life.
‘Nung unang pinitch sa akin ‘to, sabi ko ayaw ko ng mga gamot kasi hindi ako uminom ng gamot kasi kami ni Mariel organic [living]… pero ‘nung nakita ko na organic talaga ang ASCOF Lagundi [pumayag na agad ako],” says Robin in an interview when he visited LAC Farms, one of the country’s biggest OCCP (Organic Certification Center of the Philippines), GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)-certified organic farm owned by Pascual Laboratories, the maker of ASCOF Lagundi.

‘Yung Chairman ng aming company, si Dr. Abraham F. Pascual, ay may advocacy na mag-develop ng natural products kasi marami talaga sa Philippines na halaman na may medicinal properties so it’s his advocacy to develop products that will be good for the consumers. We find that we are aligned with Mr. Robin Padilla’s own advocacy kaya naman siya ang kinuha namin as endorser for ASCOF,” says Ayne Rili, ASCOF’s Senior Brand Manager.

ASCOF Lagundiherbal medicine, is one of the few that can claim that it is natural, organic, and effective against cough. It has a luwag-tunaw combo action against cough—a bronchodilating effect that widens inflamed/constricted air passageways in the lungs, giving relief to the patient, and a mucolytic action that melts phlegm for easier expectoration.

“Ang maganda sa ASCOF ay sila ‘yung unang brand na gumamit ng Lagundi. Iyong ASCOF, 19 years na sila,’yung iba sumunod na lang,” this is what actor and Ascof brand ambassador Robin Padilla shared during the Ascof event.

PascualLab uses the best ingredients, coupled with strict quality standards and modern technology. The pharmaceutical company has its own certified-organic farm.

Ascof is available in leading drug stores:
600mg/5ml Syrup, Menthol
300mg/5ml Syrup, Ponkan (New variant)
600mg/tablet and capsules

Organic farming is the best form of agriculture combining traditional and new innovation without the use of pesticide. Just allowing nature to do its way. I also believe with Ascof, I've been using it for treatment of cough and I find it effective. How about you, have you tried Ascof? How was your experience?
