#GetActive and Stay Healthy

I started my journey to a healthy lifestyle in 2012. Back then, I was very choosy of what I eat. I don't like vegetables and fruits. I could not even finish 1.5 liters of water in a day. Thanks to my husband for his unending encouragement even if I get angry when he keeps on reminding me to drink water or do exercise, he's always there to encourage.

Ways on How to #GetActive and Stay Healthy

Many of us are interested in getting fit and healthy. But there are many things that prevent us from achieving our goal. Like for example, exercising once a day. We are busy and have to catch up on deadlines. Sometimes, we woke up late and rushing to the office. Most of us can't find time to cook food, thus eating in fast food. Traffic brings us home late. We just want to relax and sleep, forgetting even a 30-minute exercise or stretching.

Tips on how to maintain proper diet & exercise

Even if I'm slim, I still feel unfit and weak that's why I am trying my best to exercise at least 3x a week. My secret to having the right and realistic diet is not skipping meals, but eating on time with the proper proportion according to my age, height and weight. More vegetables and fruits, the colorful the plate, the better. I don't deprive myself of sweets and dessert but consciously controlling sugar intake. For example, a bite size of chocolate cake or cheesecake is enough. Sometimes, I even shared it to my husband, that leaves me with only 1/2 of the serving or just 1 teaspoonful. Cravings satisfied. I don't feel guilty eating dessert.

I do my exercise in the morning after a light breakfast. There are thousands of videos online for free that you can watch and follow steps. My favorite is the Break Free Quick Cardio workout by Good Health 24/7. In the afternoon, I do yoga for relaxation.

Mondays and Fridays are scheduled me time when husband leaves for work. I would usually go to the spa and have a massage, have manicure and pedicure. Most of the time, just catching up with my books over coffee

Watsons recognizes the need and importance of a holistic approach to health. Taking vitamins or supplements is also important. Vitamins bridges the nutrient gap and can help in preventing illnesses.
