Philippine Products Showcased in Ambiente

Philippine-made products are once again showcased during the world’s largest consumer goods fair held in Germany.



The international fair featured 4,441 exhibitors from 89 countries, and 134,600 buyers from 168 countries held in a 43 football traditional rattan weaving. From the Philippines, eighteen export companies participated the European Trade Fair showcasing products for home and fashion.

Worldwide Exhibitions Linkage Services (We-Link), a division of Global-Link Exhibitions Specialist Inc. (Global-Link ESI) and the official sales and marketing partner of Messe Frankfurt in the Philippines, provides support to independent exhibitors from the Philippines. All in all, almost 40 exhibitors represented the country’s manufacturers.

Some of the unique designs includes wall accents made of abaca, recycled election tarpaulins, and vintage-shaped chairs made modern with traditional rattan weaving.

Tadeco Home, which is part of Tagum Agricultural Development Company Inc. (Tadeco),  one of the highest yielding banana plantations with creative director Maricris Floirendo-Brias’s father, Antonio Floirendo Sr., started the family’s banana and abaca plantations in Davao del Norte after World War II. Maricris makes paper out of banana fiber and from abaca she started making unique home accessories.

Other interesting items include Celestial Arts’ bowls and decorative containers and Trays and chargers made from capiz shell.

It was a successful five days exhibition featuring consumer goods from different parts of the world. I hope to experience the trade fair in the future. Congratulations to Ambiente!
