Cleene Ethyl Alcohol Partners with Plastic Bank For A Cleener Philippines

Parents are role models to their children. Our responsibility should not be limited to providing them with a roof on their head and food on the table, we also play an important role in their character building, as well as emotional and mental development.

Explore and Enjoy the Nature

The pandemic has made an impact in our kid's growth and development. I have friends who find it quite challenging to bring their kids outside after being stuck at home for more than two years. With the easing of restrictions, I think it's time to slowly introduce our little ones to outside world. Bringing your kids to parks to appreciate the nature is one of the best way we can do to let them explore and enjoy the nature. During our recent trip to Rizal Park, I allowed my kids to run and play freely. We also enjoyed our picnic at Luneta Park and taught them how to clean our things and not to leave garbage anywhere. If our children will only see how we value and protect the environment, every little thing they see you do, they will imitate.

Mini Garden

Gardening is always fun. We only have a limited space at home but it was never been a hindrance for us to plant and grow food. Let your kids get involved into gardening. If you have a small space at home, you can try using small container for gardening.

Small Means A Lot

At home, we try to use products that are kid-friendly. As much as possible we avoid chemicals like mosquito sprays at home, instead we make sure to clean the surroundings to prevent breeding grounds for mosquitoes. We emphasize the use of electricity wisely by turning off the lights/electricity device when you don't use it. When I do my grocery, I make sure to bring an eco-bag. Remember the 3R's reuse, reduce and recycle and get involved- support groups who work to make a difference.

Cleene Partners with Plastic Bank, Launched a "Cleener Philippines" Campaign

Cleene Ethyl Alcohol, a trusted Filipino brand that provides high-quality and affordable alcohol products from Philusa Corporation, extends its effort in reducing ocean-bound plastic waste as it partners with social enterprise Plastic Bank Corporation.

I recently attended the virtual launch of Cleene Ethyl Alcohol’s campaign entitled “Towards a Cleener Philippines,” a movement encouraging the public to be more mindful of the environment by adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. This is in collaboration with Plastic Bank, a social enterprise building collection communities in coastal areas while improving the lives of community members. With the Philippines named as one of the top producers of marine waste, Cleene Ethyl Alcohol has taken the leap in creating a positive impact on the environment together with Plastic Bank.

Cleene Ethyl Alcohol is helping to prevent the equivalent of 1.25 million plastic bottles from entering the ocean in collaboration with Plastic Bank. Cleene will also help improve the lives of more than 600 plastic waste collectors in vulnerable coastal communities in Makati, Pasig and Mandaluyong with the contribution of health kits.

“It’s always been our commitment to finding sustainable ways to help our environment. And we hope that through this effort, we can contribute to minimizing ocean plastic waste and be of help to our hardworking Plastic Bank collectors,” shared Philusa Corporation President and General Manager Neogin Evangelista.

Promoting collaboration between consumers and brands, the partnership with Plastic Bank enables Cleene Ethyl Alcohol to achieve its annual sustainability goals and empower its consumers to make an impact on the environment. Cleene Ethyl Alcohol’s partnership with Plastic Bank also contributes to the collectors’ income, enabling them to afford basic family necessities such as food, clean water, and cellular service, among others. Additionally, the company is distributing health kits in several cities nationwide to help improve the health of the collectors.

“We are honored to be joining Cleene in their journey in making this project come to life. At Plastic Bank, we are continuously strengthening our ocean-bound plastic recycling efforts and empowering companies like Cleene with opportunities to be a leader in the regenerative society,” said Plastic Bank Philippines Country Manager Rene Guarin.

“We look forward to creating more impact on our oceans and coastal communities in the years to come together with Plastic Bank. We encourage everyone to create sustainability programs in our own simple ways and join our movement towards a Cleener Philippines,” Evangelista added.

To learn more about this initiative and how you can take part in this movement, visit philusa.com and plasticbank.com. Let's invite our family, friends, and relatives to do something to protect the environment and why it’s important to do so. Our simple acts will likely imitate by our children.

Congratulations to PHILUSA Corporation and to Plastic Bank for this great partnership. We hope that this will go a long way and that other companies alike will follow this initiative.
