An Invitation to Visit Malaysia

FlyZest to Kuala Lumpur

I was planning to spend a weekend outside the Metro when an invitation came to visit Malaysia. What thrilled me most is joining well-known travel bloggers, Tourism Malaysia and Zest Air’s maiden flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Aside from the opportunity to take photographs, to live with the community, taste their local food, learn their culture is a once in a lifetime experience.  It will be my first time in Malaysia. My first time to travel via Zest Air and to be part of its significant event, Airbus A320 aircraft maiden flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Negeri Sembilan

Last Saturday we had the bloggers’ briefing held at Embassy of Malaysia here in the Philippines.  Excited to meet and personally thank the people from Tourism Malaysia, Jonel and I arrived a bit earlier. Not too long, the mechanics of this trip to Malaysia was revealed - a sort of backpacking challenge!

They presented seven different state of Malaysia Perak, Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan. I wanted to explore the most distant state but I got a slot for Negeri Sembilan, about two hour ride from KL. A state rich in culture, arts and  history. Fortunately, Jonel will be in the same state so I will surely not miss him.

Sunday morning was spent preparing my itinerary, booking for accommodation and researching about Negeri Sembilan.

Did you know that Negeri Sembilan means nine states. It is located in the west of Peninsular Malaysia. Some reviews says, it’s quite small but interesting place. Rich in culture and arts, I would like to explore not just by taking photos of their well-known attractions but to live and immerse myself with the people of Negeri Sembilan. It will be a unique experience that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Negeri Sembilan

Negeri Sembilan is identified with strong influence of the Minangkabau culture reflected with their traditional houses and modern architecture. The state’s capital, Serembran an hour drive from KL is said to have several historic and cultural landmarks which I would definitely want to see. Part of my itinerary is a tour at Port Dickson, a popular destination both for the locales and foreigners.

In the evening, I slept early to get ready for more than three hours flight from Ninoy Aquino International Airport via Zest Air’s airbus A320 aircraft maiden flight Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Travel essentials:

I seldom travel abroad with just a backpack but today I’ll try to pack my things in one bag. A valid passport and plane ticket, gadgets, local simcard are just few of my travel essentials.

I’m now ready to explore Negeri Sembilan and looking forward for an experience of a lifetime. See you Malaysia!

Visit this blog more often as I share my travel experience in Malaysia particularly in Negeri Sembilan.
