Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant Opens in MOA

I was lucky enough to visit two restaurants managed by the Bistro Group & Creative Restaurant in a span of two months, both celebrating their grand opening. After a Korean feats in Bulgogi Brothers here comes traditional-style Japanese cuisine from the newly opened WATAMI Philippines.

It’s a casual restaurant  with over 700 branches in Japan, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Taiwan, Singapore, Guangzhou, Malaysia and now in the Philippines at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

It has a modern design and interiors pleasing to the eye, comfortable sofa, tables and glass ceiling. Pardon with this blurred photo I took while for the food to be served.

An interesting line-up of refreshing beverage to choose from, Jonel had Kiwi Tea with Agar (right most) and mine was  Caramel milkshake. There are citrus beverages too, such as the Passion Citrus fruit and other tea based drinks. I find the Kiwi Tea with Agar refreshing and light so I asked him if it’s okay to exchange with my Caramel milkshake.

For starter, we had Five kinds of sashimi, Sapporo Seafood Ramen salad and Watami Salad.  The salads are great, in fact serving size is good for sharing, enough for a meal in case you’re on a diet or no-rice meal. Salmon Sashimi in a nice presentation and quite expensive taste good, fresh and  mouth-watering.

Tasty Salmon & Vegetable (P185) in Rice Paper, another darling of the crowd.

Beef and Kimchi Rice in Stone Pot  keeps the rice cooking and the food hot.

Beef Rice Bowl with Hot Spring Egg in Tokyo Style is one of their best sellers. The tandem of egg and beef did not disappoint me.

Korean-style Spicy Miso Hotpot at only P355, soup that’s packed with vegetable, tofu, meat and seafood. It’s simple and delicious.

Watami offers comforting food in an affordable price. For me the highlight of the menu would be the Beef and Kimchi Rice in Stone Pot and their staple food,  Assorted Sashimi.

Watami is located at the 2nd level, Entertainment Mall/Veranda of the SM Mall of Asia
