My Mega Food Tour Experience

Have you seen SM Megamall's SM Mega Fashion Hall? Aside from the regular shopping scene, you will notice several restaurants and flagship stores recently open. It's not just a premier shopping mall, it has several casual restaurants that could be a venue for gastronomic treat. I have no idea how I survived twelve (12) restaurants in four (4) hours! I have joined quite number of food tours in the past and it's always worth my time. Not only that I tasted good food, it's always a great opportunity to meet new and old friends. For this post, I will highlight the restaurants but you can may read more about the Mega Fashion Hall as a shopping haven here.

When I discovered I was included for the Mega Food Tour, I jumped to the opportunity. Mega Food Tour is a food journey of SM Megamall's Finest Eats, featuring the firsts, flagships and unique food selectionsThe gastronomic journey was led by famous travel and food blogger, Anton Diaz and writer RJ Ledesma. We were allowed to bring one (1) companion each, so I invited my sister in law. We're around 25 including Anton, RJ Ledesma and people from SM Megamall. One of most exciting part though is meeting people, they were not bloggers. There were students, young and old couples but I think we all have the same passion and love for food.

We started around 3:30 pm with the famous Pork Buns from Tim Ho Wan, Classic Cinnamon Roll from Cinnabon, a serving of Gelato from Bono Gelato, Muscovado Royal Pudding from Chez Karine. Our fifth stop was late afternoon Tea Time at the beautiful Salon de The.

The Muscovado Royal Pudding from Chez Karine was my one of the photo entries I posted on Instagram for the Mega Food Tour contest. For the second time I had this soft, custard pudding with dark caramel sweet at the bottom.

We spent some Tea time at Salon de The where they gladly served variety of pastries and hot tea.

How can I forget my winning entry and one of my favorites during the tour - Custaroons from Gigi Custaroonery. As of this writing, I'm having bite-size delicious Chocolate Custaroons. During the food journey, they gave us 4 pcs of Original Custaroon. Cheese flavor costs P25/each, Lemon and Butterscotch at P40/each. For more information, check out their FB Page, facebook.com/Custaroons

We move on to the third (3rd) level for some Japanese treats at Osaka Ohsho. We had Gyoza and tasty Karaage.

Our 9th stop was at Boqueria where we had Paella Queso Hamonado and delicious Sangria

Aside from Shrimp balls, Xiao Long Bao when in Lugang Cafe, you should try their traditional Arabian Coffee which is served using this machine. It's fun watching how it operates while savoring the aroma of Arabian coffee.

The next stops on our journey are restaurants in operation for several years. Just beside Lugang Cafe is the famous Abe. We had this savory Lamb Adobo and thirst-quencher Tamarind smoothie.

As much as I wanted to stay for the last four stops (A 10-minute Buffet at Vikings, Pinkberry, Baked by Anita and Lucca Bakery) but I have to leave and meet my husband for dinner. :)

Thanks Anton and SM Megamall for the wonderful food journey! Follow them on IG,
