Lambanog is a staple liquor in many provinces in the Philippines. Although, I don't have much memories of family members drinking this unique liquor but I remember during my two months immersion in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, old men capping the night with few shots of Lambanog.

After so many years of product research and development, the prime movers of Philippine Craft Distillers, Inc. (PCDI) created Lakan, Extra Premium Lambanog. A liquor unique to the island of the Philippines.

Few weeks ago, we witness the launch of a liquor unique to the island of the Philippines held at Salon De Ning, Manila Peninsula.

Lakan was presented in different concoction:

• Debucca Mix, Lakan plus Tablea with dalandan zest
• Kali Mix, Lakan and Pandan antidote
• Kampilan Mix, Lakan and Lemon grass with ginger
• Urduja Mix, Lakan plus Mango coridial

I find the Debucca mix interesting while the Kampilan mix which has lemon grass and ginger, soothing and subtle.

It was a celebration with good music and overflowing Lakan, extra premium lambanaog performing on stage was my all-time favorite band, The Company serenaded us with their greatest hits.
