Me Time Series: A Quick Vacation At Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila

After my wedding, I seldom go out alone. It's always me and my husband. I love it that way and I hope it will remain the same. I know how blessed we are being in the same field of interest, blogging. But let me tell you ladies that us, women need time for ourselves. Away from the kids, from work and household chores. It wouldn't hurt going out without your husband. Remember the saying "absence makes the heart go fonder." Believe me that it's a must to spend time and money for yourself. I'm glad my husband has always been supportive of me.

As I have mentioned on my Look Back 2015, one of the highlights of the past year was spending more time for myself. A few weeks after my Cebu trip (watch our for my story here), I had a short vacation in a new hotel located in Pasay city. It's the Golden Phoenix Manila.

I seldom go to Mall of Asia and its nearby areas because its too far from my home in Quezon City. Back in 2012, I completed watching the Pyromusical competition every weekend. It usually ends past nine in the evening. Going home was really difficult. I remember staying at Fersal Hotel in Makati because I missed the last bus trip to Sta Maria Bulacan where I used to live. So in 2013 and 2014 I seldom go there for pyromusical. Last year, I never attended even once.

Interesting places are located in Pasay City. If you're coming outside Manila and wanted to visit Baclaran Church, one of the oldest churches in Manila or shop at SM Mall or Asia, you may want to consider staying at Golden Phoenix Manila.

Golden Phoenix Hotel is the newest member of the Zhongfa Development Inc., It's strategically close to Manila domestic and international airport and the country's major gaming and entertainment complexes such as RWM and Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. SMX, the Mall of Asia Arena even World Trade Center are few minutes away from Golden Phoenix by car. Going around these places would not be a major problem.

Ms. Christine Ibarreta of Golden Phoenix welcomed and invited me over lunch at the restaurant located at the second floor. A warm and delicious seafood dish with mashed potato and vegetables on the side was the start of a pleasant stay.

Golden Phoenix Hotel offers 281 spacious and contemporary design rooms and suites. During my stay, I was given Superior Deluxe Room with two queen size beds (46-55 sqm). I think this is one of the biggest hotel room I ever experienced so far. With this space, the room can even accommodate up to four people. Or I must say it's good for vacationing couples with two kids. There's Seats For Two or coffee table with the view of sunrise drive.

I was surprised to see a spacious hotel room complete with all the things I needed for a more relaxed short vacation. The 40 inches flat screen LED television with cable, individually controlled air conditioner which I really appreciate since I'm too sensitive to cold especially at night. The mini bar just is filled with juice and cola just in case a guest wanted to eat especially late at night. Just because I start my day with a warm drinking water followed with coffee, I'm happy with the coffee and tea making facility.

The bathroom is spacious as well. There are shampoo and liquid bath soaps, bath robes and bedroom slippers. Everything I need while staying in a hotel.

I spent more time lying on the bed and reading a book. Sometimes, I would watch the television. The sun was about to set when I decided to go out for a leisure walk. I passed by restaurants, convenient stores and a familiar spa, Nuat Thai. Mall of Asia is just a few blocks away from the hotel but I have no plans to shop that day. So I went back to the hotel for a cup of hot chocolate and pastry filled with Oreo cookie.

I had a restful sleep surrounded with soft pillows. I could roll over in the queen sized bed. The bedroom lights and the bed provided a more comfortable sleep. The morning sunlight coming from the window pane made me excited to stand. It's time for breakfast. The spread consists of bacon, egg, sausage, fried rice, cereal. I requested for omelet and the server gladly prepared one for me.

I also had the chance to peeked suites and rooms at Golden Phoenix. Here they are..

It was on soft opening when I stayed at Golden Phoenix Hotel. There will be a swimming pool, a gym and a children's playground opening this year. I can't wait to dine at Gold Spices restaurant which will be located at the 7th floor. I will definitely go back to #ExperienceGoldenPhoenix more, this time with my husband for #SeatsForTwo.
