Awareness Week | Pink Standing Casket & Pink Tent on All Saints Day

Exactly a month from now, we will be celebrating All Saints' and All Souls' days. These are traditional events around the globe where families remember their loved ones who passed away. How do you celebrate UNDAS?

Our family usually go to the cemetery few days in advance to clean the grave. My aunties would stay overnight on the eve of All Souls' day, just like many Filipino families with their makeshift or camping bags.

While most of us would commemorate the death of our loved ones, St. Peter Life Plans and Chapels dedicated a whole week and call it the "Death Care Week" to give public service.

St. Peter Life Plan and Chapels invites us to join the Death Care Week happening from October 27 to November 2, 2017. The St. Peter Death Care Week is a major Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Service Program of St. Peter Chapels that aims to promote awareness on Death Care planning and preparation.

In celebration of St. Peter's Death Care Week, there will be several activities in the Metro that will start on October 1 and will culminate on November 2, All Souls' Day. St. Peter partners with the country's first and premier escape room game, Breakout Manila.

My Experience Inside the Pink Standing Casket

The next photo might be disturbing, funny or could mean nothing to you. During an intimate dinner with the team of St. Peter's, we were challenged to try getting inside the pink standing casket. Initially, I was afraid and said that I cannot but after seeing them taking photos inside the casket, I thought it was okay. Don't get us wrong, we are not making fun about death. But not all thoughts about death need to be negative.

Losing someone is very painful but the situation becomes more difficult if we don't accept reality. The same thing when we are not ready and prepared when that time comes. That is what St. Peter Life Plan is stressing, that importance of pre-need life plan saves everyone from the additional burdens.

Everything Pink on All Saints Day

Aside from that, St. Peter will provide public services before and during the All Saints and All Souls Days. The pink standing casket replica will be on display at the St. Peter Pink Tents in selected cemeteries nationwide during the St. Peter Death Care Week. Anyone can take their photos inside the pink casket. It may sounds weird but I tried it and it was okay. I guess you just have to face your fear.

During UNDAS, you might spot the Pink Tricycle and avail of their free ride. From October 31 to November 1, there will be pink tents at selected cemeteries to provide public service. They will distribute free hands fans and umbrellas as giveaway to cemetery goers who will take a picture on the pink casket.

Finally, there will be thanksgiving mass on October 29, Sunday at the Talitha Kum Healing Mass on TV which will be aired at 8am in PTV4.

If you're thinking of getting a life plan, just visit the St. Peter Life Plan, Head Office at Quezon Avenue, cor #2 West 4th Street, Quezon City. Telephone No.: (632) 371-7757 or visit their website, www.stpeter.com.ph

Let us not forget the reasons why we celebrate All Saints Day. May this year be a peaceful and meaningful one.
