The Covid-19 pandemic has brought millions of people to lose their jobs.  Applying for a job is quite challenging too that is why I am thrilled to share with you about JobStreet’s Virtual Career Fair happening on  February 17-21. Over 55,000 jobs will be available at the said Virtual Job Fair.

Some of the job roles available are IT Software Specialist, Digital Marketer, Sales Executive, System Analyst, Customer Service Representative, Financial Consultant, ESL Teacher, Accountant, Engineer, IT Developer, HR Staff, and HR Manager. Candidates can also apply for Office Administrator, Dispatcher, Merchandiser, Warehouse Staff, Quality Assurance Staff, and more. Among the hiring companies include BDO, Mercedez Benz Group, LBC Express, Yamaha Philippines, Universal Robina Corporation, Aboitiz Construction, Converge, 51 Talk, Accenture, TaskUs, Nestle, and many more.

“Millions of Filipinos have lost their jobs last year since the pandemic, and JobStreet embarks on a mission to help Filipinos rebuild the economy by amplifying our commitment to being a career and talent partner this 2021,” said JobStreet Country Manager Philip Gioca. 


Aside from thousands of career opportunities, the Virtual Career Fair also features live chats and on-the-spot interviews with HR representatives from participating employers. A chatbot will pre-screen questions and answers to filter potential candidates, and a Live Chat Control Platform will allow hirers to have direct conversations with multiple candidates.

Hiring companies will have their respective virtual booths where they can showcase multimedia content for jobseekers to explore and navigate. In addition, candidates will have access to JobStreet Facebook Live events wherein financial and mental health experts will be discussing relevant labor matters to the audience. This is in line with JobStreet’s dedication to providing valuable support to job seekers amid the situation.  


BIR, PhilHealth, SSS

Aside from job postings, JobStreet partnered with government agencies to help candidates with their service-related queries. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will have their own virtual booths in the Virtual Career Fair to accommodate concerns and questions from candidates via chat.

 

“During the lockdown, we’ve faced a lot of challenging times, and this year is everyone’s chance to look for opportunities and rebuild themselves. We encourage jobseekers to join and submit their applications to as many companies as they want during the Virtual Career Fair on February 17 to 21,” added Gioca.

Some of the tips for newbie job seekers. Make sure to prepare a soft copy of your curriculum vitae with an application letter. Don't forget to attach a most recent photo of yourself wearing proper attire. Search for jobs that fits your education or interest. It's also best to wake up early, register to JobStreet website.
