Ilijan Batangas

So, we just got back from a two weeks vacation in Lipa Batangas. We've been spending the holidays in the province for the last two consecutive years now. During our first Christmas there, we organized a small get-together or family reunion of sort and to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. It was fun as we shared our blessings with relatives in the province. It was also an opportunity to meet those I don't personally know. Last December during the big family reunion, we decided to do it again - share our blessings through raffle prizes and giveaways.

Monte Maria Batangas

We started our vacation visiting a Catholic shrine called Monte Maria in Ilijan, Batangas. From Lipa, it took us about an hour and half going to the shrine of Mother of All Asia. It's a beautiful place situated on top of the hill of Barangay Pagkilatan overlooking Batangas bay. I enjoyed the cool weather and fresh air. There's a small chapel and souvenir shops. A huge church is also located under the statue of Mother of All Asia, the Tower of Peace.

While waiting for our relatives who were attending the mass, my husband and I went around sight seeing.

From Monte Maria, we went to the beach for a short walk. While I have no plans of swimming because of the freezing cold weather in Batangas, the kids obviously enjoyed the beach.

Now, it's time for lomi, a Filipino dish with thick noodles, sauce and lots of ingredients like vegetables, egg and kikiam. One of them even said that the best lomi can be found here in Lobo, Batangas.

It was almost dark when we reach Lima Park or Lima Outlet. We went here for dinner and to see the giant Christmas tree and lights. This year's theme is snowy wonderland.

#UyChristmas 2022 and Happy New Year 2023

Viva Magenta is the Pantone's color of the year 2023. I tried looking for a dress but did not found one in SM Lipa, so I wore an old shirt from Penshoppe.

Some would say that you should be home on New Year's eve and never leave the house empty. For me, it's not about where you're spending the holidays. What is important is that you celebrate the most important occasion with people you love.
