My Healthy Superfruits

After the abdominal surgery (exploratory laparotomy) last year due to ruptured appendicitis and peritonist (inflammation and infection of the peritoneum or the lining covering the organs of the abdomen) I promised to be extra careful with the food I eat. Even if the cause of appendicitis remains unclear, some says due to bacteria, fungi etc. It's better to keep our immune system strong by eating the right food like superfruits

I remember what Dr Jo said during our visit in his organic farm Rapha Valley Farm in Bacolo "your food is your medicine so take it fresh". Lately, I found three healthy, superfoods given to me in different blogging engagements I attended. These food are healthy and usually found in nature.

Salabat (Ginger Tea)

Our friends from Bohol Tourism warmly welcomed us during our visit for Sandugo Festival. They gave us pretty handmade necklace and bayong of goodies. Inside it comes with packs of salabat. I never tried it until I came back in Manila. Since then, it has been my favorite evening drink before going to bed. I do not know but every time I drink hot salabat, it removes stress and fatigue. That's the reason why most spas offers a cup of hot salabat after the massage. I like the soothing effect it provides to my throat too.

Sometimes, I would buy yellow ginger (turmeric) and make my own ginger tea at home.

Quaker Instant Oatmeal

I'm not a fan of oatmeal but husband do. I can serve it almost everyday and never complains. I found this 350grams pack of Quaker Instant Oatmeal Fruit and Nuts. Because it has nuts, I immediately give it a try. I was surprised that I finished a small bowl in one sitting. It's delicious good, a bit sweet and has bits of dried fruits - raisins, apples and pacans.
