What's Inside Merkado Supermarket In UP Town Center

A trip to the supermarket has been one of my favorite "me time". Going every section to see if there's ongoing promotion or new products on display. I usually do my grocery shopping once a week even if there's only two of us at home. Most of the time I buy vegetables and fruits. So when I received the invitation to attend the opening of new Merkado Supermarket at U.P. Town Center along Katipunan, I did not think twice. I was excited.

Let me tell you the details one by one. I bet you would regret not visiting Merkado during the opening.

Carrying over 20,000 merchandises and spanning 3,900 sqm of floor area, Merkado Supermarket has everything we need. Merkado is a joint venture between ALI Capital, Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Land, Inc.) and Entenso Equities, Inc. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Puregold Priceclub, Inc.)

This newly opened grocery caters to consumers living along Katipunan and nearby areas. They have a wide selection of products from seafood, vegetable, meat and poultry among others. I also noticed imported items we don't usually find other supermarkets.

The grand opening was graced by Fernando Zobel De Ayala, Chairman, Ayala Land and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

Let me take you to my favorite sections of the grocery. First, the poultry section with Magnolia Chicken Station. Well-arranged fruits at the vegetables and fruit section. During the opening Crimson Seedless Grapes are on Buy 1 Get 1.

I was excited to get fresh, green leafy vegetables. There's basil, lemongrass, cucumber among others. The chiller is full of cakes and mouth-watering desserts.

Local and imported ice cream brands - Twix, M&Ms, Hershey's just among others.

Coffee lovers would go crazy over BonCafe (leading coffee brand in Middle East), Caffe D' Vita, Starbucks Hot Cocoa Double Chocolate and a lot more coffee, milk and chocolate beverages. Mug Shot sweet and sour noodles. Snacks like KitKat cheesecake and Oreo Matcha cookies.

Merkado Supermarket is located at U.P. Town Center, 
Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City. 

The price is within a reasonable range and there are lots of promotion. The supermarket is also spacious with large banners so you would easily locate specific product. I can't wait to come back.
