French Baker, My First Love!

French Baker celebrated its sweet 25th years baking in the Philippines. The anniversary celebration also highlights French Baker's “Visit Paris in Summer 2015”, a raffle promo where one lucky winner will get the chance to visit and experience Paris, France next year.

French Baker was one of my favorite bakeshops since 2002, when I started earning! SM North EDSA branch and their small branch in SM Cubao were my favorite places and I always go for that creamy lasagna. The menu was a little pricey but you get what you paid for - the food is always tasty and yummy! Another favorites are the Chicken A La King and Creamy soup in a bread bowl during rainy days. If time permits, I would queue and grab that 50% off pastries at 9:30 pm. :)

Back to the anniversary celebration held at SM Mega Fashion Hall, guests were treated with European-style breads, various flavors of Macarons and pastries with a cup of coffee and tea.

Issa Litton in her lovely red top and stripes skirt hosted the event. I like her French hairdo I hope I can wear the same hair style soon. :)

“It was in 1985 when I traveled to Europe for the first time that I fell in love with PARIS and her baked goodies. Since then I’ve dreamt of doing the same so that I can impart a similar experience to our kababayans in the Philippines,” shared Johnlu G. Koa, professor turned entrepreneur, and now Founder and CEO of The French Baker.

I wanted to personally thank Mr. Johnlu G. Koa for bringing Paris in the Philippines. Not all of have the opportunity to experience Europe. I'm good just experienced and tasted yummy French pastries and delectable dishes at the comfort of my homeland.

Here's a toast to 25 years and more! Congratulations French Baker! Among the most prominent names who graced the event were former senator Edgardo Angara, Sen. Paolo “Bam” Aquino, and Trade and Industry Undersecretary Atty. Victorio Dimagiba, to name a few.

Consolation prizes includes 25 The French Baker gift certificates worth P5,000 each are also up for grabs. The grand prize winner will get to spend at least three days in each of France’ key cities, including Paris, the old Roman City of Nimes; and finally in Monte Carlo.

Today, The French Baker has 52 branches all over the country, and has expanded to include The French Baker “Salon de The” edition. Although there were a lot of coffee shops/bakery/cafe mushrooming within the Metro, French Baker remains to be... my first love. Happy Anniversary!
