Please come in and thank you for coming to my party! No, just joking! How are you dear readers, I bet you and your colleagues are all busy preparing for the Holiday parties, Christmas parties left and right, friends and family reunions. Are you having a hard time? Don't be too stressed, remember it's the most celebrated part of the year. As for me, I'm almost done decorating our house. I took time while the hubby is out of the country, exploring some parts of Vietnam. Nakakainggit! But it's okay, I'm looking forward to our holiday vacation in Macau. I will tell you more about it so keep coming back. 

Anyhow, I hope this blog will be of great help for the holidays. About a couple of weeks ago, I went to The Romulo Grand Buffet featuring Catering by Claudia. The grand luncheon buffet was held at Ayala Tower One, Ayala Triangle. We were welcomed by a classic black and white theme designed that caters about a hundred guests. Thanks Romulo Food Group for having me!

I started with Romulo Garden Salad of Mixed Lettuce, Cucumbers, Beets, Marinated
Tomatoes, Croutons and Buffalo Cheese served with a Mango Coulis Vinaigrette. Crispy Aubergines with Salted Egg, Onions and Tomato

and placed on buttered tostadas

Lying on buffet tables were Smoked Bangus Roll, California Maki, Hiroshima, Temaki Rolls
Tuna Sashimi and Salmon Sashimi. Indeed, it was a feast of best known starters.

The humble Dilis paired with Labanos Ribbons and served on a Romaine Lettuce boat
Balut Pate’. One should not miss the Filipino Delicacy Duck Egg’s yolk sauteed in aromats, Mirin
and White Wine then blended with Olive Oil and Butter
Duck Lumpia.

Satisfied with the starters so I decided to get a bowl of calabaza soup, a combination of our humble calabaza with carrots to deepen the color. The addition of cumin spice creates a musky, earthy flavor while the crostini compliments it with a different texture. Added some slices of bread, the ensaymaditas and raisin cinnamon breads were very pretty.


Savory Pastel de Lengua with tender and rich Ox Tongue braised with Mushrooms and White Wine Sauce was one of my favorites. It was stuffed and baked in a buttery and flaky pie crust. 
I super love it.

While the Poached Salmon with a Yogurt and Dill Sauce was pleasing to the palate.

Paella Valenciana, a rich and savoury fiesta of seafood, chorizos, vegetables and Rice
cooked with Saffron, Sofrito and Spices easily wiped out. I guess it's one of the crowd's favorite.

Moving on to the Carving station, we were treated with U.S. Angus Beef Brisket with BBQ Sauce. You may choose to be served with Ciabatta Bread and Red Cabbage Slaw. I opted to have it that way since I'm already full from started, soup and bread. It was very tasty, tender and juicy.

I was delighted to see wide variety of sweets. There's Pinoy delicacies - Leche Flan with Candied Strawberries, Cassava Bites with Cheddar Cheese and fresh fruit platters. Other choices were classic Chocolate Cake Ganache, Blueberry Cheesecakes and Assorted Panacotta Shots.

The Romulo Grand Buffet prepared by Caterings by Claudia reminded me of the time when the hubby and I attended food tasting in search of our wedding caterer. Caterings by Claudia is the official catering arm of the Romulo Food Group. These food I shared to you represent the favourite dishes and preparations the Romulo restaurants are known for. Moreover, the grand buffet coincides with the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Filipino, Spanish, French and some of them a refined merging of food blends. It served at the grand buffet is truly representative of the international palate with a touch of the discriminating Filipino qualities.
