Must-Visit Places in Pasay City

Recently I went to explore "Urban Places, Vibrant Spaces" around Avida Towers Prime Taft avenue, Manila led by Ivan Man Dy. The tour highlighted three major cites - Manila, Makati and Pasay. It also gave us perspectives on the best of Avida Towers including its proximity to three major cities.

I've heard a lot about Ivan Man Dy's Binondo tour. Then I met him during the Moon cake Festival at Kamuning Bakery few months ago. I enjoyed my first moon cake celebration and felt warmly welcomed by the Chinese friends of Wilson Lee. So I though of joining Binondo food and heritage tour.

The Henry Hotel

A not-so-hidden place, the white house located in Pasay city is becoming a favorite destination for businessmen and travelers like me. The Henry Hotel is not only a place for staycation, you can also find the Avellana Art Gallery and a fashion gallery of Project Runway's Jojie Lloren inside the compound.

Museum of a History of Idea, UP Manila

Built in 1899, this building used to be the college of dentistry. You will see old hospital and dental equipment.

Along the small eskenita of Zamora street stands the Ancestral House of National Artist for Architecture, Pablo Antonio

I call it the Bougainvillea house because it's surrounded with lovely bougainvillea. They also use the flower as a decor inside the house. Scroll down and freshen up with the homey interior.

open windows that allows natural air and lighting to enter inside the house. I never thought Bougainvillea will be a lovely centerpiece.

They prepared a sumptuous meal with pasta with three sauces, the mustard chicken which was my favorite plus desserts. Should you wish to dine here, you must make prior reservation.

The house is also called My Mother's Garden in Pasay City as a tribute to Dona Marina Antonio, wife of National Artist for Architecture Pablo S. Antonio. Malu Antonio Veloso and daughter Letlet Antonio Veloso runs the restaurant. They are also well-known bridal gown and fashion designer so you would see some of their creation. Bring extra money because for sure you would want to bring home one of these women's accessories.

It was such a wonderful experience discovering historical places in Manila just around Avida Prime Taft. There are few hotels that has an art gallery. Open to the public ancestral houses such as Pablo Antonio's that's worth visiting as well. Not so famous yet interesting museum showcasing Filipino history and culture. These are just a few minutes away from Avida Prime Taft. To date, Avida has 77 projects in 29 locations nationwide. Have you been to Avida, you may check their website www.avidaland.com

I hope to enjoy our quick city tour. What's your favorite among the three?
