My Most Effective Skin Care Routine

The new year brings new opportunities, renewed strength to face challenges and become a better person. Many of us made a new year's resolution on loving oneself. How's your commitment so far? In my previous blog, I shared my Secrets to a Successful Beginning and number 3 is about loving yourself.

I appreciate when people say "you don't look your age", "you have a fair skin", "why you're so slim (payat) at your age?".

There's no secret but only proper skin care, diet and exercise. On a previous post I shared My Top Five Secrets to Staying Slim. You can achieve all these if you have discipline and healthy lifestyle. First thing's first, avoid bad habits such as cigarette smoking and too much alcohol intake.

Today, I would like to give some tips on how you can commit to My Best and Simple Skin Care Routine so that by the end of the year you can go back and see the difference, perhaps you can even do the How Aging Hits You challenge.

Skin Care Tip #1 : Hydrate. Drink more water and fresh juice.

Skin Care Tip #2: Start with the basic skin care routine and modify if needed (by adding other products like serum) as time goes by.

It is important to know your skin type from there you can choose the proper skin care products that suits your skin. Simple skin care routine includes cleansing with either facial scrub or mild cleanser. Toner is important to tighten skin. Choose the right moisturizer according to your skin type.

Skin Care Tip  #3: Set a time or day for exfoliating whether using sheet or clay mask.

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask is a peeling mask with alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and Triplex Exfoliating Creamy Milk Bubbles for Soft Peeling. AHA and BHA works to peel away especially on pigmented skin. It works well with prone to acne skin.

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask promises to brighten skin by removing dirt and excess oil. To use simply apply the Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask on your clean face evenly and leave it for five (5) minutes. It's a creamy milk bubble once dispensed from the bottle. It turns into a dry white cream  five minutes later. Here are the photos one on the back of my hand and the another applied on my face. I think I applied a very small amount so I would suggest give your skin more and enjoy the soft bubble. Ten minutes later, I washed it with warm water and pat dry. My skin feels clean and soft.

Love sheet mask? I like clay masks more than sheet masks. The clay masks makes my skin tighter and rejuvenated. On Mondays and Fridays I apply face mask while having me-time, yoga and body massage.

Skin Care Tip #4. Eye Cream: To Use or Not to Use?

Dark circles around the eyes and fine lines are just some of the reasons why you need to use an eye cream. The skin under our eyes is sensitive and prone to wrinkles. Eye cream nourishes the skin under your eyes and prevents puffiness. Having said that, eye cream should be part of your skin care routine just make sure to choose products that are safe and mild because it can easily absorb by the skin.

Skin Care Tip #5: Sunblock, Sunscreen - protect your skin from UV rays that causes skin damage.

I tried the 10 steps Korean Skin Care but the long process may not work for those who easily forgets like putting on an eye cream or mask; or intentionally skips any part of the routine because she/he is in a hurry to work. Discipline is the key. I can say I was overwhelmed so I stick to the basic, simple skin care regimen for any skin type - cleanse, toner, eye cream, moisturizer. Simple is best, that is the good skin care routine for me. Do you have anything you would like to share or ask regarding skin care routine?
