Today, people are becoming more conscious with what they eat. With a growing number of food bazaars and night markets that offer nutritious and healthy meals, we are encouraged and influenced to start healthy living by eating the right kind of food. There’s the spa diet, before and after yoga diet which teaches us the right amount of calorie we need to have every single meal.
On November 26 and 27 NUVALI held a two-days action-packed, adventure-filled biking event on its Dirt Weekend 2011. Different major mountain bike enthusiasts and competitive cyclists chose from: Cross Country, 24 Hour Race, Four Cross and Mt. Bike Orienteering.
In line with their vision of sustainability, NUVALI held the biggest bicycle trail race back on its third year to encourage the public to embrace nature and a healthier and more sustainable way of living through biking. NUVALI’s 1,750 hectare eco-community gets back on track on its Dirt Weekend 2011, the most exciting biking competition south of Metro.

The cross country event proves cyclists endurance in NUVALI’s bike course as the sun sets, rises and sets again. In the four cross competition, cyclists fly, zip and zing their way through jumps and berms as they pedal their way to the finish line. In mountain bike orienteering, cyclist navigated through trails and complete the control points, while choosing their routes wisely.
Guests did not only enjoyed watching the race, a concert featuring the country’s best bands joined the celebration, too.

Last Friday, November 26 Dolce Super Club along Tomas Morato was packed with members of the media, Bloggers, friends and families of the Ultimate Schick Look 2011 Grand Finalists. With 20 contestants (10 guys and 10 girls) competed to be the next Schick Male and Female Brand Ambassadors.
The top 20 contestants were the best from over 100 nominations received during the University tour in 50 schools held since September, and led the pack after a neck-to-neck voting on Schick’s official website and Facebook page.
Everyone’s already a winner before the final event began at the Ultimate Schick Look. Contestants ages from 17 to 23, all are beautiful, talented and worthy to be called the Ultimate Schick 2011 but there will only be two winners (1 girl and 1 boy).
Schick also gave out special awards such as Ultimate Schick Talent, Ultimate Schick Style, Ultimate Schick Photogenic and USL ng Bayan for most online votes.
As part of Schick’s “Shave for a Cause” advocacy to improve one’s self and bring out the uniqueness in every individual, it will help a chosen beneficiary from GMA Kapuso Foundation which is a partner of the Ultimate Schick Look 2011.
Guest judges included Ultimate Schick Boy 2009 winner Anthony Roque and celebrity fashion stylist, Odelon Simpao. Rising celebrity Julie Anne San Jose and Ms. Earth Philippines 2010 Psyche Orozco also joined the contestants during the final showdown as guests.
“The Ultimate Schick Look is our way of refreshing and helping to bring a change in the lives of our consumers and other beneficiaries of our event,” said Schick Philippine senior brand manager Claire Guevarra.

On November 17 we were invited for an intimate afternoon talk with the Soul RnB Sensation, Thor.
THOR started as a choirboy in Davao before he became one of the most promising Soul RnB singers in the country. With perseverance and hard work from joining and winning singing competitions until he started getting into professional singing together with his band MYXTREME at the age of 19 and followed by his self-titled album THOR under Evolution Music distributed by Warner Music Philippines.
His second studio album entitled “Soul Obsessions” Duets with Thor was released in 2007 under Ivory Music Philippines, conceptualized from his radio segment on Wave 89.1. The album was Thor’s collaboration with the Philippines greatest artists like Jay Durias of South Border, Luke Mijares, MYMP, Nina, Amber Davis, Jinky Vidal of Freestyle just to mention a few.
While gigging at a bar here in the Philippines, international Soul Jazz musicians Marcos Sainz and Juan Galiardo were impressed and approached Thor after his set. The two asked him to sing some tracks in their album. They flew him to Spain to record and asked him to become a part of the band. Their album was released in some parts of Europe last 2008 entitled, “SHINE A LIGHT”. Now, Thor is one of the lead vocalists of the international Soul Jazz Funk band SATYA PROJECT while still pursuing his solo career here in the Philippines
Thor received various awards including Most Promising Male R&B Performer (Awards and Recognition Association of the Philippines), Awit Awardee (Best Performance by a Duet on the song “The Closer I Get To You” with Nina) and the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Theme song “Kasalanan Nga Ba” from the movie “KUTOB”.
