CuisineNanay To Compete in World Food Championship in Las Vegas

It was in 2011 when I first met Neneth Tiongkiao Madrona, a mom and passionate cook. We were attending a cooking class then at ENDERUN Colleges in Fort Bonifacio. We get along so easily, perhaps because we shared the same passion - the love of cooking! She loves to attend cooking demonstrations and food tasting events;  joined and won several cooking contests in the country.

I remember the mini chicken pie she made during the "UST I GuTS To Know" General Assembly. It was served in mini cups topped with tiny baked star cookies making it more attractive. Neneth also made delicious lasagna rolls and mixes her own juice. The Strawberry/Papaya Juice w/ Mama Sita's Distilled Cane Vinegar taste very good. I never thought vinegar would be fine in a juice.

Last week though, I started shopping for Christmas decors and passed by Shaw Zentrum 500 along Shaw Boulevard. It's a mall surrounded with restaurant and kiosks selling clothes, shoes and bags. That day, a Meet and Greet trade show caught my attention happening at the Events Pavilion. I was surprised to see Neneth in one of the booths.

I guess anyone who would enter the trade show would easily notice CuisineNanay's Filipino old carinderia set-up sponsored by the Mama Sita's Foundation. They featured Pinoy dishes made tasty with Mama Sita's products. A free buffet lunch was set up during the launch of CuisineNanay. These moms prepared adobong hito, bulalo, chicken tinola and Mama Sita Spare Ribs.

CuisineNanay Deedy Tiongkiao cooked Pancit Malabon and sold it for P50 which comes with free Porcelain plate. CuisineNanay Luisa Camua Juanson baked Cheesy Sweet Potato and offered it at P60 in a porcelain plate. CuisineNanay Cherry Dacanay cooked her version of spaghetti using Mama Sita Spaghetti Sauce. My friend, CuisineNanay, Neneth Mama made her special Caldereta Macaroni using Mama Sita.

Customers enjoyed tasty Pinoy dishes and a portion of the money we spent goes to funding CuisineNanays' plane ticket to Las Vegas for the Ultimate Food Fight, World Food Championship set this November. With every purchase, customers got free Melawares. I would like to salute them for this brilliant idea - less garbage disposal and free melawares for the customer! Moreover, the Melawares were all brand new. These were items they won on a recent cooking contest.

Neneth joined World Food Championship in 2013 under the Recipe Category. This year, Neneth Madrona together with Maridel Pacleb, Vivian Tiongkiao are going back to Las Vegas to compete for the Ultimate Food Fight, WFC 2014 happening on November 12 to 18.  I am truly proud of them. Good luck to our CuisineNanay Maridel, Vivian and Neneth!
